I’m Màiri Norris, and I love to read and write historical romance from the Viking and Anglo-Saxon eras to Edwardian America. I learned to read at age six. This wonderful skill opened up a plethora of new worlds. I got lost in the magic and as you can see, never found my way out. I grew up on the classics, historical fiction, and sci-fi. Then one day, I decided to try reading a romance. I happened to pick up The Wolf and the Dove by Kathleen Woodiwiss and followed it with Honor’s Splendor by Julie Garwood. That was all it took. I was hooked, utterly and forever, on historical romance.

As a youngster, I made up stories in my mind and played at writing poems and short stories, but never found time to get ‘serious’ about writing until life interfered and demanded I find a new outlet to deal with a long-term emotional storm. Thankfully, that gale has quieted and I’m happily fishing in the Highlands of Scotland with the most handsome Highland Chieftain… oops. Got a bit carried away. Actually, I’m contentedly typing away in my sunroom office in the wilds of southeastern Virginia.

I’m a USN vet and a stay-at-home mom to three spoiled cats, but I love to travel with my Coast Guard retiree husband. My heart yearns to live in the Highlands of Scotland (someday, I want to write a story set along the western River Tay).

I make dollhouse miniatures as a hobby when I’m not haring off to spend time in medieval England, ancient Scandinavia, or Colonial America.

I’m a proud member of Romance Writers of America, Celtic Hearts Romance Writers, Chesapeake Romance Writers and Clan Donald, USA.
